He who always existed
Entered into his creation
He who was coeternal diety
Did not grasp on to his divinity
But came into humanity
He who had no needs
Became a suckling child
He who led the angels into battle
Was made lower than them
To win the battle for my soul
He who formed the clouds
Was craddled in a lowly manger
He who set the rainbow in the sky
Remembered his promise of deliverance
He who knew no sin
Became a lamb for the slaughter
He who deserved glory
Chose to receive shame instead
He who can count the stars
Was counted as nothing
And sentenced to die
He who was worthy
Took our punishment upon himself
He who knows my every hearbeat
Took on a beating heart
Knowing it would break
He who gives me breath
Struggled to breathe
He who was always with his father
Was forsaken and abandoned
He who was eternal
Died and was buried
He who had no debt to pay
Nailed my sins upon the cross
He who knew the evil in my heart
Came to save me a rebellious sinner
He who was without end
Declared that it was finished
And then rose triumphant from the tomb
